Designing Bootcamp ideas for large groups can be difficult.
I use a lot of fun team games, team challenges and team circuits. So the easiest thing I have found is to split the group in to smaller teams because it’s more manageable.
Individual challenges also work well because everybody can work at a pace that suits them. You can use what I call the double blast concept to design numerous different Bootcamp ideas for large groups.
Bootcamp Ideas For Large Groups – Variation 1
Title: Double Blast Concept
Fitness Equipment: 3 Markers
Time: 12 minutes
Method: Spread the group out along the start line as shown
Step 1: Players complete burpees for 30 seconds working as hard as they can.
Step 2: Immediately follow with a long sprint of around 300m (150m for beginners). Set the distance so your beginners get back first
Play 4 rounds in total.
The next round starts when the group have fully recovered.
Round 2: Same again but change the exercise to push-ups.
Note: This is a template based bootcamp workout so you can fit in your own exercises be that bodyweight exercises, equipment based or both. Don’t forget to show exercises modifications for beginner, intermediate & advanced participants.
Bootcamp Ideas For Large Groups –
Variation 2 Limited Space
Round 1: Spread the group out ready for shuttle sprints
Step 1: Players complete a set exercise (I.e. burpees) for 30 seconds working as hard as they can.
Step 2: Immediately follow with non-stop shuttle sprints for 30 seconds
Play 4 rounds in total. The next round starts when the group have fully recovered.
Round 2: Same again but change the exercise
So, there you go. Give it a try with your group and let me know how you get on.
